Sierra States University Scholarship Guideline

It is Sierra States University’s pleasure to announce three scholarships.

These scholarships are designed to help students financially, in hopes to assist in achieving academic, career, and success in life. The Scholarships are granted to new/first time SSU students who have excelled academically. Each scholarships are limited to one qualified student for the period of one year. Once a student obtain a scholarship the student cannot apply any other scholarships. SSU’s Scholarship Committee will review only completed scholarship applications submitted within the application deadline.

***All documents must be ORIGINAL, CERTIFIED TRANSLATED IN ENGLISH, & evaluated by WES (World Education Services)***

***Sierra States University reserves the right to review any student conduct and academic progress at anytime during scholarship time frame. SSU also reserves the right to change eligibility requirements, application requirements and rules & regulations regarding any & all scholarships.***

Rules & Regulations:

  • Student must maintain as same as GPA with eligibility for each scholarship for all 3 quarters
    • If student does not maintain a GPA the scholarship will be revoked.
  • Student must not violate any SSU, SEVIS, USCIS policies while attending SSU
    • If student violates any policies scholarship will be revoked.

Application Requirements:

  • Complete and submit the Scholarship Application Form within the deadline period
  • Submit 2 Letter (for Board scholar ship) or 1 letter(for other scholarship) of Recommendations from a Supervisor or a previous Professor
  • Submit essay
    • Essay Requirements:
      • 12pt, Times New Roman Font, Double Spaced, 750-1,000 words, Essay must contain all topics.
    • Essay Topics:
      • Define an event or experience that has had an impact on your life
      • Describe a person who has had an impact on your life that has helped your goal in furthering your education.
      • Explain where and how you will serve your community after achieving academic success at Sierra States University.

President Scholarship

The President Scholarships covers 20% of tuition (The tuition cannot exceed 3 classes per quarter and 3 quarters per year for undergraduate program and 2 classes per quarter and 3 quarters per year) ONLY, other fees such as registration and technology fees, etc. are not included in the tuition price.

Eligibility:

  • Must have completed high school with a 3.90/4.0 GPA for undergraduate program applicant
  • Must have completed undergraduate degree with a 3.90/4.0 GPA for graduate program applicant

* Limited to one student per degree program per year.

 

Dean’s Scholarship

The Dean’s Scholarships covers 15% of tuition (The tuition cannot exceed 3 classes per quarter and 3 quarters per year for undergraduate program and 2 classes per quarter and 3 quarters per year) ONLY, other fees such as registration and technology fees, etc. are not included in the tuition price.

Eligibility:

  • Must have completed high school with a 3.8/4.0 GPA for undergraduate program applicant
  • Must have completed undergraduate degree with a 3.8/4.0 GPA for graduate program applicant

* Limited to one student per degree program per year.

 

Merit Scholarship

The Merit Scholarships covers 10% of tuition (The tuition cannot exceed 3 classes per quarter and 3 quarters per year for undergraduate program and 2 classes per quarter and 3 quarters per year) ONLY, other fees such as registration and technology fees, etc. are not included in the tuition price.

Eligibility:

  • Must have completed high school with a 3.75/4.0 GPA for undergraduate program applicant
  • Must have completed undergraduate degree with a 3.75/4.0 GPA for graduate program applicant
